Mary Irene Millar

Mary Irene Millar, a Tyne Class lifeboat 47-033.

She was an afloat boat commissioned during May 1989 at Portpatrick on the west coast of Scotland where she served until 2011 when she went into the relief fleet for almost 2 years. The present owner bought her from the RNLI in December 2013.

She is fitted with 6V 92 series 2 stroke (Green’s) Detroit Diesel engines BHP425 each, which gave her an operational speed of 17 knots and a range of 240 N miles.

Whilst at Portprick she launched on service 251 times and saved 70 lives.
