West Country Classics Series

A new opportunity for 2020

Sponsored by

This new series of Westcountry classic regattas is being established with the aims of:

  • Encouraging boats to enter more than one – and hopefully all – of the participating regattas.
  • Encouraging boats from further afield to come to these Westcountry regattas.
  • Encouraging other classic regattas to be created or revived.
  • Helping to raise the profile and awareness of the participating regattas, both individually and collectively in the press and elsewhere.

Eligible Vessels:

Each regatta’s current eligibility criteria will apply, but the minimum length on deck (LOD) for the series will be 5.5m/18ft and only keelboats or displacement vessels with centreboards are eligible.

Each regatta will continue to use its current class structure.

Points for the series:

Points will be based on the yacht’s overall placing in each regatta entered.

An evening prize giving dinner will take place at the end of the season with trophies for best performances by small and large bermudan and gaff/other rig boats.

The organisers of the participating regattas invite owners of classic and traditional boats to take part in this new series and look forward to welcoming them to their regattas.
