Fear Not

Launched in 1991 and built by the late Ralph Bird, who built a total of 29 gigs in his shed at Carnon Mine, Devoran, Fear Not is well travelled. She has taken part in the Vogalonga through the Venetian canals and lagoon, the Brest Festival of the Sea in Brittany and the late Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant on the Thames.

She has also visited Pembrokeshire, circumnavigating Ramsey Island, and cruised the length of the Caledonian Canal in Scotland.

She is one of the very few remaining Cornish pilot gigs rigged for sailing and regularly competes in the Falmouth Classics.
