Mat Ali

Mat Ali was commissioned by E J C Edwards to a Harrison Butler Khamseen design.

She was built in 1935 in mainland Malaysia predominantly from the wood of a single Chengal tree. The Edwards family home was near the Helford River so, in 1937 Mat Ali was shipped from Malaysia to the head of the Suez Canal and sailed back to the Helford via the Mediterranean.
Mat Ali has been owned by Charlie Hussey and Mary Watson since 2011.

Her home port is Dartmouth and she cruises to Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and South Brittany most summers.
