Mary Ritchie


Designed by Roger Dongray, Mary Ritchie was built from 1991-2 by John Fuge on the River Fowey with the assistance of Ted Luck and Peter Williams. The design was influenced by Truro Oyster Boats and Falmouth Quay Punts and the carvel construction is pitch pine on oak frames. In the same ownership since launch, she was originally moored on the River Crouch in Essex for 21 years and cruised on the East Coast and to the Netherlands.

She participated in club racing and events organised by the East Coast Old Gaffers Association and in the Dutch Classics including North Sea races. Returning to Cornwall in 2013 she has been moored on the Helford and has been a regular participant in Falmouth Classics. in 2016 she sailed to Brest and Douarnanez.
