Black Goose is one of the original GRP Gaffers built by Cornish Crabbers Ltd of Rock and designed by Roger Dongray.
Twelve ketch rigged Cornish Traders were built before being substituted by the Crabber’s Pilot Cutter. The design was based on the 19th century traditional West Country trading ketch which was approximately 50 feet and the final development of the wooden merchant sailing vessels in Britain. They worked primarily around the South West peninsula and also trading with Continental ports and even across the Atlantic.
