Built in Bridgwater in 1907, Irene carried cargo of all sorts (including bricks, corn, stone, iron and even live pigs) around the West Coast from 1907 to 1961.
In 1998 Irene moved to the Caribbean, where in 2003 she was gutted by fire and sank off St Maartens. Her owners re-floated her and she was towed back to Cornwall for rebuild, sailing once again in 2009.
