Tashana (formerly Penny Plain, Muffin Two, Felicity Jane) is an example of the long keeled, centre cockpit, cruising yachts built by David Hillyard. Tashana is a 9 tonner and has a carvel planked hull of mahogany above the water line and pitch pine below, on steamed oak timbers on a long iron keel and a canoe stern.
She was originally built as a sloop but in 1981 a short bow sprit was added to make her cutter rigged. She was ashore for a major refit from 1977 to 1981 following her purchase by her previous owner. She had new decks in 1982 and her auxiliary Petter Twin engine was replaced by a Perkins 4108 in 1983.
