Built by Dave Cockwell over 2 years from 2008-2010, Merlin of Falmouth is a 48′ Bristol Pilot Cutter built along the lines of Peggy that was launched in 1902, one of the last sailing pilot cutters to be built and still sailing today.
Merlin of Falmouth is a charter yacht, owned by Classic Charters Limited and her main role is to support charities such as the SetSail Trust in Guernsey. Merlin won convincingly the 2014 Pilot Cutter Review, the informal ‘Pilot Cutter World Championships’ held from St Mawes, and she has been raced single handed successfully too, coming a close second to Jolie Brise in the Yarmouth Pilot Cutter Regatta in 2012.
Merlin of Falmouth is also the Flagship of the Dartmouth Distillery Co., award winning makers of Dartmouth English Gin, and sponsor of the Falmouth Classics 2019. Come an try our gin at the Falmouth Maritime Village…!
