Falmouth Week is a major attraction for locals and visitors alike. With its origins in a local sailing regatta dating back at least far as 1837 (we have an engraved trophy to prove it!) the Week has evolved into not only a major sailing competition in the SW but also an opportunity for sailors and landlubbers to enjoy the many daytime and evening attractions in the town.
The Falmouth Week Regatta features up to seven days of fleet racing for yachts and dayboats in the expansive waters of Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads (lower Fal estuary). Racing takes place each day from Sunday to the following Saturday, with daily and series prizes, and is complemented by comprehensive shoreside events for everyone. Many of the competitors combine the racing with their annual family holiday!

The National Maritime Museum Cornwall is a fully independent museum. The result of collaboration between the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich and the former Cornwall Maritime Museum in Falmouth, the museum was officially opened in 2003 and is located on the aptly named Discovery Quay in Falmouth, south Cornwall.

The Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival is one of the biggest maritime music festivals in Europe. Falmouth will play host to hundreds of hours of free to attend shanty performances, with only our special Gala Concert ticketed, and proceeds going to the RNLI. The town will be filled with music, singing and infused with a great community spirit. The Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival is held at multiple venues throughout the town with main stages being Seasalt Stage on Custom House Quay, Skinners Stage on Events Square (Discovery Quay) and Seven Stars Stage on The Moor.
The West Briton is a local weekly newspaper published every Thursday. It serves different areas of Cornwall, United Kingdom with four separate editions – Truro and Mid-Cornwall, Falmouth and Penryn, Redruth Camborne and Hayle, and Helston and The Lizard. When two boats are heading straight towards each other, they avoid collision by following a simple rule of sailing – turn to starboard (turn to the right). We use sailing to help Armed Forces personnel and their families make the right turn.
Based at Falmouth Marina in Cornwall, we are a group of Yachtmasters and volunteers – civilian, ex-service and serving who help military veterans get on the right track.
We use Royal Yachting Association (RYA) sailing courses to support Armed Forces personnel who have been affected by military operations. We also provide sailing trips to enable Service families who have been affected by operations to spend some time together on a skippered yacht, plus volunteer opportunities with a wide variety of roles.
